Dawsons returns to live property auctions for first time since lockdown

Property agency Dawsons is reviving the physical ‘in-room’ auction experience on 5 March in Swansea – its first since 2020, when live sales were halted by the pandemic.

While the company has continued conducting virtual auctions in recent years, it says nothing can replicate the energy of a real event, where the buzz in the room and the frisson of live bidding are hard to beat.

To mark the move, the firm is rebranding its auction division as Dawsons Auction House. Auction house manager David Parton explains: “With a history dating back to 1992, Dawsons has built a formidable auction legacy, and I’m eager to help it thrive for years to come. Another crucial factor setting us apart is our seasoned auctioneer, James Dawson, who has been leading our auctions since 2005. His commanding presence and market insight give clients total confidence.”

Parton insists returning to an in-person format allows for a unique atmosphere, face-to-face interaction, and the chance for bidders to feel the tension of a live sale. The firm sees 2025 as a key year to further expand its auction services, grounded in what it calls a “heritage built on trust and professionalism.”
