The Seventy Ninth Group has embarked on a £15 million luxury hospitality development on the banks of Loch Ness, marking its latest expansion in the premium leisure and holiday park sector.

The 17.5-acre site in Drumnadrochit forms the first phase of an ambitious project that aims to redefine high-end accommodation in the Scottish Highlands. Over the next 12 months, the group plans to develop more than 30 luxury lodges, ranging from two- to four-bedroom properties, designed to meet rising demand for premium stays in one of the UK’s most recognisable tourist destinations.

Loch Ness and the surrounding Highlands attract more than two million visitors each year and contribute over £750 million annually to the Scottish economy, making the region a key growth area for upscale tourism. The Seventy Ninth Group believes the site offers a rare opportunity to combine luxury living with one of Britain’s most dramatic natural settings.

Jake Webster, managing director of The Seventy Ninth Group, said the project reflects the enduring appeal of the area. “The Scottish Highlands, and Loch Ness in particular, have long been a top draw for domestic and international tourists seeking stunning natural beauty, rich history and a quintessential luxury retreat,” he said. “This acquisition represents an exciting opportunity to establish a premier hospitality offering in one of the UK’s most iconic regions.”

The development is being financed through a combination of investment from the group’s founding Webster family and its in-house financing arm, underlining a long-term commitment to expanding its luxury property portfolio. The group said this approach allows it to retain control over design, build quality and the overall guest experience.

The lodges are expected to blend contemporary architecture with the traditional character of the Highlands, offering panoramic views of Loch Ness while providing high-spec interiors and modern amenities. The aim is to appeal to discerning travellers looking for privacy, comfort and a high-quality alternative to traditional hotel accommodation.

With demand for premium holiday accommodation continuing to grow across the UK, the Loch Ness project is expected to play a key role in The Seventy Ninth Group’s future leisure strategy, strengthening its presence in destination-led luxury tourism and reinforcing the Highlands’ status as a year-round market for high-end stays.
