Taylor Wimpey España is calling on British investors to take advantage of the growing popularity of off-plan property purchases in Spain, pointing to rising demand, early price security and the potential for capital gains as key selling points.
Marc Pritchard, the developer’s sales and marketing director, said that off-plan sales were “booming” in key regions including the Costa del Sol, Costa Blanca and Mallorca, where limited inventory and increasing demand are fuelling a competitive market. “Buying off-plan in areas like these enables buyers to lock in their purchase price early and often make a significant saving as a result,” he said. “It’s a strategic approach that carries the potential for capital gains before the buyer even sets foot inside their new home.”
Currently, 95% of Taylor Wimpey España’s customers are purchasing properties off-plan, a trend that Pritchard believes reflects the appeal of staggered payment structures and access to homes built to the latest energy efficiency and design standards. “It’s not just about financial upside — buyers can also spread the cost more flexibly than with a resale and enjoy the comfort of a home constructed to modern regulations,” he added.
The company is now actively seeking new land for development, particularly in prime beachfront and golf-adjacent locations, in anticipation of continued high demand throughout the summer season — traditionally the busiest time of year for Spanish property sales.
“The market is very busy right now, and we’re only just gearing up for the summer,” said Pritchard. “We’re proactively seeking land plots in strategic coastal and inland locations to support the future pipeline.”
For investors considering an off-plan purchase, Pritchard advises working only with long-established developers and ensuring professional legal and conveyancing support. “It’s also worth asking about customisation options — depending on the stage of the build, buyers may be able to tailor finishes, fittings and even aspects of the property layout,” he said.
Taylor Wimpey España has been building homes on the Spanish coast for more than 65 years, and says it is seeing renewed interest from UK buyers looking to secure second homes, holiday lets and long-term investments in the sun.
